Renaissance Festival continues Sunday

Friends of Yates plans event Oct. 1 to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month
In recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, Friends of Yates will hold its 3rd annual Night of Praise, “Friends Embracing Lives through Praise.” The benefit event will be held at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 1417 N. 9th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Wyandotte County Museum exhibit on the Underground Railroad continues
The Wyandotte County Museum, 631 N. 126th St., Bonner Springs, has a new exhibit on the Underground Railroad on display. “Through Darkness to Light” features photographs taken mostly at night of sites along the Underground Railroad. The exhibit runs through Oct. 10. There are companion artifacts from the pre-Civil War era here currently on display at the museum. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
