A tragic accident is being reported out of the Piper area of Kansas City, Kansas, tonight.
A boy perhaps age 4 or 5, somehow got hold of a gun and it went off, striking him, according to Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman Nancy Chartrand.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.
An initial investigation indicates it was a tragic accident, Chartrand stated.
Tragic does not say enough!
Why??
Parents what were you thinking. Even if not your home the unsupervised child should not been anywhere near that gun. It looks so irresponsible of all adults in home. I’m so so sorry for the family this is another senseless child seat that should have never happened. I’m sorry if I sound harsh but gun safety is number one especially with children around. Yes I have a CCL.
The parents should be charges with child endangerment. I’m very sorry for their loss but it was entirely preventable. The child should never have been able to get his hands on a gun – loaded or not.
