A groundbreaking for a new Welborn Elementary School will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, at the school at 5200 Leavenworth Road.
The new elementary school will be a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a quality learning and working environment for all those attending the school, according to a news release from the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools.

The project is tentatively scheduled for completion for the 2019-2020 school year.
