The Leavenworth Road Association and the Knights of Columbus recently presented T-shirts to students at Christ the King Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas.

The T-shirts were presented to students before the Thursday, Nov. 14, Mass at Christ the King Church.

The T-shirts recognized the school, which recently received the 2018 Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann CEF School of Excellence Award from the Catholic Education Foundation.

The school also was honored at the Oct. 20 Gaudeamus event held by the Catholic Education Foundation. That event raised about $1.2 million in scholarships for low-income students in northeast Kansas who attend 22 Catholic schools, including the five schools in Wyandotte County, Bishop Ward High School, Christ the King Catholic School, Holy Name Catholic School, Our Lady of Unity Catholic School, Resurrection Catholic School and St. Patrick Catholic School.
