Public K-12 schools in Wyandotte County have canceled classes for Wednesday because of dangerously cold temperatures.
Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools, Turner Public Schools, Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Public Schools and Piper Public Schools will not have classes on Wednesday.
The forecast calls for sub-zero wind chills overnight and early Wednesday morning.
The Kansas City, Kansas, school district will have Plan C in effect. Schools will not be open for students, but district offices are scheduled to be open. All preschool classes are canceled; school bus services are canceled; and no meal services are available on Wednesday.
The Piper district also has rescheduled the eighth grade parent meeting to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.
