Local student named National Merit Commended Student

Mariah Connor of Kansas City, Kansas, a senior at Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri, recently was recognized as a National Merit Commended Student.

About 34,000 of the 1.5 million students who took the PSAT are designated as Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Pembroke Hill had 16 students recognized as National Merit Semifinalists and eight as Commended Students, representing 24 percent of the senior class.
