Four Kansas City, Kansas, students have won awards in a business pitch competition held by Youth Entrepreneurs.
Youth Entrepreneurs students dreamed up business ideas and recently presented them for a chance to win grants during The Big Idea Semifinals.
In all, 24 students from Kansas City area schools were selected to participate in the event. The top finishes move onto the finals competition June 19 in Wichita.
Students from Kansas City, Kansas, included: Evelyn Molina $950, Harmon High School; Anahi Grande $500, Harmon High School; Cristian Torres $200, Washington High School; and Jesus Juarez $50, Wyandotte High School.
Each student was given seven minutes to pitch a business idea to a group of judges followed by seven minutes of questions and answers. Judges were given a pool of $2,500 to invest in the business or person of their choice.
