KCK student named to dean’s list at Emporia State

Thu Oo of Kansas City, Kansas, was among nearly 100 Emporia State students named to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences dean’s list in the spring 2022 semester.


To qualify for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences dean’s list, students earned a semester grade point average that puts them in the top 10 percent of all students enrolled in full-time undergraduate work within the college and have a cumulative 3.5 GPA for all Emporia State courses.


Emporia State University offers over 200 academic programs in the School of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Library and Information Management and The Teachers College.

KCK school board to hold special meeting Monday morning

The Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11.

On the agenda for the meeting are a discussion of the 2022-2023 budget, board budget and the budget revenue neutral rate.

The KCK school board also has a special meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 12.

On the agenda for the July 12 meeting are the human resources report and recommendations, more discussion about the budget and a review of policy updates.

Two KCK students named to dean’s list in Nebraska

Two Kansas City, Kansas, students have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The students are Natalie Rose Frick, a junior in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, majoring in sports media and communication, and advertising and public relations; and Abigail Meeyeong Grimm, a junior in the College of Business, majoring in accounting.

More than 6,200 students at UNL were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
