A retirement reception is planned for Dr. Cynthia Lane, superintendent of the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools Central Office, 2010 N. 59th St.
The reception is casual. Guests may come and go. There will be a brief program at 2:20 p.m.
The reception is open to school district staff and the community.
Margaret Wolf of Kansas City, Kansas, has achieved a place on the University of Evansville dean’s list for academic achievements during the spring semester 2018. Wolf is majoring in biology.
To make the dean’s list, a student at UE must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Located in Evansville, Indiana, the University of Evansville is a private, liberal arts-based university with over 80 majors and more than 100 areas of study.
Nearly 1,100 students were candidates for graduation at Emporia State University this spring, including several from Wyandotte County.
The Wyandotte County candidates for graduation included:
• Brianna Nicole Bell of Bonner Springs, Kansas, with a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration.
• Nicole M. Bishop of Bonner Springs, Kansas, with a Master of Arts degree in English.
• Vicky Lynn Herbster of Bonner Springs, Kansas, with a Master of Science degree in School Counseling.
• Laura Jo Castillo of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in Accounting.
• Brandon Goodwin of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration with a concentration in Educational Administration Prek-12.
• JaShawn Markeyce Wallace of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Social Sciences.
• Tyrone T. Weaver of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation.
• Dakoda W. White of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in Business Administration and a minor in Music.
• Justin Robert Wieser of Kansas City, Kansas, with a Master of Science degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
