KCK school board to meet today

The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Central Office and Training Center, third floor board room, 2010 N. 59th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

An agenda for the meeting is online at www.kckps.org.

Six persons are scheduled to speak during the community comment time on classroom cameras.

KCKCC to hold free kids Halloween trunk-or-treat party Saturday

Kansas City Kansas Community College is holding a Kids Halloween Trunk-or-Treat Party.

The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in the parking lot of the Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center, 6565 State Ave. in Kansas City, Kansas.

Activities include carnival rides, inflatables, bounce houses, food trucks and more. It is free and open to the public.

“The Kids Halloween Party has been a tradition at KCKCC for more than 20 years,” said Andrica Wilcoxen, director of student activities at KCKCC. “Our community loves coming to the college to celebrate together as a family, and the college provides a safe, fun and exciting environment for our students, their families and our community.

KCK school board to hold special meeting today

The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the law offices of McAnany, Van Cleave and Phillips, 10 E. Cambridge Circle Drive, Suite 300, Kansas City, Kansas. On the agenda are the human resources report and recommendations, professional development travel, a change to a policy on complaints about discrimination, a policy about complaints about the district, employees and students, and a board development session.
