The annual Back-to-School Fair will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools’ Central Office, 2010 N. 59th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
The annual event provides backpacks and supplies for all Wyandotte County schoolchildren. There is no cost to families and children that participate.
This year, the event will be a drive-through. Masks are required.
The free items will be available first-come, first-served to Wyandotte County children.
This year, there will be 2,400 backpacks available, filled with school supplies, courtesy of the Wyandotte County Back-to-School Fair Committee, along with new books donated by the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library, hygiene kits courtesy of the Kansas City Kansas Community College and dental kits from Adventure Dental.
All support received is used to purchase backpacks and supplemental school supplies. Sponsors for this year’s Back-to-School Fair:

The location was changed to the school district offices near 59th and Parallel this year. Also, it will be a drive-through event, which is another change, due to COVID.
In addition, there will not be health screenings at the event this year.
