KCK student in summer theater production at Emporia State

A Kansas City, Kansas, student has a leading role in the Emporia State University Theatre production of “No Way to Treat a Lady.”

Corey Mann, a senior whose residence is in Kansas City, Kansas, plays Detective Morris Brummel in the play. Mann is a Topeka native.

The fast-paced, murder-musical comedy by Douglas J. Cohen is set in seedy 1970s New York. Lovable detective Brummel pursues a serial strangler across the city, while he negotiates a romance with a woman way out of his league.

The play is the 2021 summer theater musical at Emporia State. It will be presented at 7:30 p.m. June 23, 24, 25 and 26 in Emporia.

Dr. Pete Rydberg, ESU director of theater, is the play’s director.

The play will be livestreamed and also will have an in-person audience. Livestream passes can be purchased for $12 at showtix4u.com (keyword: Emporia). For more information, call the theater office at 620-341-5256.
