KCK schools saluting veterans today

The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools are joining with other organizations throughout the nation in saluting veterans today.

As with a lot of other events on Veterans Day, the district’s salute to veterans is online this year.

At the Nov. 10 school board meeting, interim Superintendent Alicia Miguel said the district has many employees who are veterans.

“We want to say thank you from the bottom of our heart. We appreciate what you do to keep us safe and free,” Dr. Miguel said.

“We want to honor and acknowledge all of our veterans past and present, who serve every day,” said Randy Lopez, board president. “Our country is here because of you and we have our freedoms because of you. Thank you for all you have done. We honor all of you.”

The school district has posted some salutes to veterans on social media, online at
