‘Are You Faster than a Fifth-Grader?’

More than 1,000 fifth-graders in the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools participated in the annual “Are You Faster than a Fifth-Grader” race and walk this morning. Students left Eisenhower Middle School, 2901 N. 72nd St., around 10 a.m. today and walked to Washington High School stadium, 7340 Leavenworth Road. Other students raced two miles from Kansas City Kansas Community College, 7250 State Ave., to Washington High School stadium. Fifth-graders from all 30 of the district’s elementary schools participated. These students were participating in the one-mile walk from Eisenhower. (Staff photo)
