Suspect arrested in July 17 double shooting

The suspect in the July 17 double shooting in the Gateway Plaza neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, that took the life of one person and left another seriously injured, has been arrested and charged, according to a police spokesman.

Tanesha Marie Horton, 27, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, has been charged in Wyandotte County with second-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Printara Jackson, as well as attempted second-degree murder, police stated. The location of the shooting was the 1400 block of North 5th.

She is currently being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

This incident remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department Major Case Unit.

KCK school board plans special meeting Wednesday

The Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Education has planned a special board meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the third floor board room, Central Office and Training Center, 2010 N. 59th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
