Two KCK students receive scholarships at K-State

Two Kansas City, Kansas, students received scholarships to Kansas State University for the 2022-2023 school year through the Wabash CannonBall Kansas City Gala.

Scholarship funds are raised through an annual gala event. In all, 97 scholarships were awarded by the K-State Alumni Association to Kansas City area students to attend K-State.

Zoey Pudenz, Piper High School, Kansas City, Kansas, an incoming freshman, received a scholarship through the program.

Also, Scott Molder of Kansas City, Kansas, received the opportunity to have his scholarship renewed for the 2022-2023 school year through the scholarship program.

Victim of traffic fatality near 49th and Shawnee Drive identified

The victim of a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle and sport utility vehicle on Wednesday night in the 4900 block of Shawnee Drive has been identified, according to a police spokesman.

The ATV driver, Nicolas Santiago-Angeles, 39, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman stated.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, the spokesman stated. All tips remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward, according to police.

Free concert tonight at Legends Outlets

Live at the Legends will present a free concert from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 24.

The concert will take place on the Legends Lawn, on the west side of the shopping center near the smokestack.

Lukas Allnutt Music is scheduled to perform June 24.

Some residents bring a lawn chair for seating.

The Legends Outlets is near I-70 and I-435 in Kansas City, Kansas.
