UG’s ARPA subcommittee meeting today canceled

Today’s meeting of the Unified Government’s ARPA subcommittee has been canceled, according to a UG notice.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) subcommittee meeting had been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and will be rescheduled at a later date.

The subcommittee had been scheduled to discuss how it will evaluate the community’s pandemic recovery; community outreach; and other items.

UG closing offices early today

Because of the winter weather, the Unified Government is closing its offices at 2 p.m. Thursday, according to an announcement.

All transit services as well as community centers will close as well. This is for the safety of UG customers as well as safety of UG non-emergency personnel, according to the spokesman. All public safety operations will continue, such as police, fire and public works.

Residents are asked to remove their cars off the street where possible to allow snow crews to do the best job possible, according to the spokesman.
