Offices to close for MLK holiday

Several area offices are planning to close for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 18.

The Unified Government offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, according to a post on the UG page.

The Board of Public Utilities offices also will be closed for the holiday on Monday, Jan. 18, according to a spokesman.

Residential trash service from Waste Management will continue as usual on Monday, Jan. 18, according to a post on the UG social media page. The rest of the week will remain on the regular schedule.

Several Wyandotte County students named to MidAmerica Nazarene University honor roll

Several Wyandotte County students have been named to the fall honors lists at MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe.

Students on the President’s List had a grade point average of 4.0 for the semester; students on the Dean’s List had a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99; and students on the Honor Roll had a grade point average of 3.2 to 3.49. All students named to honors were taking at least 12 semester hours.

MidAmerica Nazarene University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university that has more than 1,870 students and offers more than 40 undergraduate majors, as well as some professional and graduate programs.
