A victim met with a suspect to return property about 12:30 p.m. May 27 in the 1700 block of South 40th Street, according to a social media post from the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim, according to the report. The suspect then demanded the victim’s money, the report stated.

A shooting was reported around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, in the 4700 block of State Avenue, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
According to police, one victim, a male in his early 40s, had critical injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police had been dispatched to the location, the parking lot of a motel.
A police spokesman stated investigators believe the person of interest left the area in a 1993 teal-turquoise and silver Chevy Suburban with the Kansas tag 690KRE. The vehicle has plastic covering the rear passenger and side window.
Police believe that the driver was forced at gunpoint to drive the person of interest out of the area.
The person of interest is a male who is 38 years old, approximate 6-foot-1 and 260 pounds He should be considered armed and dangerous, the police spokesman stated.
The victim in the vehicle is a female aged 34, according to police.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau is investigating the case.
