McDonald’s stopped by Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Station 16 last week with breakfast. Possible homicide under investigation

Officers discovered a victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound about 1:31 a.m. April 20 in the 600 block of South 71st Terrace, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Victim attacked while walking to vehicle

A victim was walking to a vehicle when the victim was attacked by suspects, about 12:35 a.m. April 20 in the 1800 block of Lowell Avenue, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim had major injuries, police reported.

Pothole patching is scheduled today on I-70 and I-635 in Wyandotte County, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Eastbound and westbound I-70 will have alternating lane closures, from 61st Street to the Missouri state line, according to a KDOT spokesman.

On northbound and southbound I-635, the right lane will be closed from the Wyandotte County line to the state line, according to the KDOT spokesman.

Work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the spokesman. Traffic will be controlled by mobile lane closures using traffic cones, trucks with arrow boards and digital message boards.

KDOT also will have ramp closures from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday to Thursday, April 23, for road sealing, weather permitting, according to the spokesman.

These ramp closures are at:

• Southbound I-635 to eastbound I-70
• 38th Street to westbound I-70
• Westbound I-70 to 38th Street
• Westbound I-70 to northbound I-635
• Westbound I-70 to southbound I-635

Traffic will be diverted using signage and traffic cones.
