Single-game tickets for the first 10 Sporting KC matches went on sale Friday at SportingKC.com/tickets.

Individual match tickets for contests at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, through June 28 – beginning with the highly anticipated home opener against rivals Houston Dynamo on March 7 and continuing through a summertime matchup versus the Portland Timbers – can be purchased at SportingKC.com.

Season tickets also are on sale. Several multi-game ticket packages also are on sale, including half-season ticket packages and the limited-time home opener pack that bundles the game on March 7 with two flex matches.

Single-game tickets for Sporting’s final seven regular season home matches will go on sale to the general public at a later date, according to a spokesman.

Women’s Chamber to discuss heart disease awareness Feb. 19

The Kansas City, Kansas, Women’s Chamber of Commerce will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Providence Medical Center, Auditoriums B and C, 8929 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.

The “Go Red for Women Luncheon” will focus on heart disease awareness. Cardiovascular diseases are the No. 1 killer of women, and 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action, according to health officials.

Dr. Prashanth Katrapati will speak on how women can help prevent, be aware of symptoms and treat heart disease.
