Woman injured in rolling gun battle near 32nd and Lathrop

Two cars were driving through the 32nd and Lathrop neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas, and shooting at each other on Sunday when a woman occupant was injured, according to a social media post by the police chief.

The woman was reportedly five months pregnant, according to the police chief.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was expected to recover, and the baby was not injured, according to the police chief.

Multiple shell casings were found along the street, with damage to cars and houses, according to the police chief.

Teen driver injured in rollover accident

A 16-year-old driver rolled a Lexus 300 at 7:33 p.m. Sunday, June 9, on the northbound I-35 ramp to 18th Street, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The Lexus was northbound on I-35 exiting to 18th Street, the trooper’s report stated.

A 16-year-old Shawnee, Kansas, woman driving the Lexus lost control of the vehicle, striking the outside barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated. The vehicle then rolled.

The driver was taken to a hospital with a suspected minor injury, the report stated.

An 18-year-old Shawnee, Kansas, woman who was a passenger in the Lexus also was taken to a hospital with a suspected minor injury, according to the report.

Driver ejected from motorcycle in I-435 crash

An injury-accident was reported at 1:53 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at southbound I-435 at Wolcott Drive, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was southbound on I-435 when the driver lost control and struck the median, the trooper’s report stated. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from St. Joseph, Missouri, had a possible serious injury and was taken to the hospital, the trooper’s report stated. The driver was not wearing a helmet.
