The Kansas City T-Bones (14-14) finished their seven-game road trip with a win over the Texas AirHogs (6-22) Sunday with a 7-1 win.

Newly signed right-hander and former Royals prospect Christian Binford (1-0) tossed six scoreless innings, holding Texas to just two hits in the seven-inning ball game. The two teams were scheduled to play two games, but the second game was stopped because of inclement weather after only two batters and will be made up at a later date.

Kansas City took the lead 1-0 in the first on a fielder’s choice RBI from Casey Gillaspie Binford got all the run support he needed in the third from his new teammates.

The T-Bones got an RBI double from Daniel Nava and a single from Shawn O’Malley to make it 4-0 KC off Texas starter Kevin Hilton (2-1).

Dylan Tice added to the lead with an RBI single in the fourth, and Christian Correa hit a two-run home run in the fifth to put the T-Bones out in front 7-0.

Binford gave up a two-out hit in the first then retired the next 11 batters he faced in his T-Bones debut to get the win.

He held the AirHogs to just two hits, adding four strikeouts in the win. Jackson Lowery worked one inning, giving up a run in relief. The two teams started game two, but the rain came and forced the game to stop and eventually be postponed.
