Sunny skies today, with warming trend Thursday

Today’s weather will be sunny with a high of 54, according to the weather service, and a northwest wind of 3 to 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

A warm front is headed to the forecast area tonight, continuing into the day Thursday, according to forecasters.

Tonight, there will be increasing clouds with a low of 38, according to the weather service. A calm wind will shift to south southeast around 6 mph after midnight.

Thursday, temperatures will rise about 13 degrees to a high of 67, as a warm front lifts into the area, with a south wind of 6 to 11 mph, the weather service said. It will be mostly sunny.

Thursday night, the low will be around 45 with mostly cloudy skies and an east southeast wind of 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Friday, expect a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 65, the weather service said. A southeast wind of 8 to 13 mph will gust as high as 20 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Friday night, as a cold front moves through part of the forecast area, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 53, according to the weather service. Between a tenth and quarter-inch of rain is possible.

Saturday, expect partly sunny skies and a high of 62, the weaether service said.

Saturday night, the low will be around 38 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Sunday, the high will be near 57 with mostly cloudy skies, the weather service said.

Sunday night, the low will be around 45 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Monday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers with a high near 62, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 70 percent chance of showers with a low of 44, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, the chance of rain is 60 percent, with a high near 58, the weather service said.

Police interview one person in connection to Firelight Lounge case

In a further development in the fatal shooting case at the Firelight Lounge Saturday, Kansas City, Kansas, police said that Lacresha Carr, 40, reported in to police headquarters on Tuesday.

In an earlier statement, police had said they thought Carr left the lounge in a vehicle with a person suspected of firing a gun.

Carr was interviewed on Tuesday by detectives in the Criminal Investigations Divisions, and has since been released pending further investigation into the incident, a police spokesman stated.

Michael Williams Jr., a bystander at the Firelight Lounge in the 1800 block of Parallel Parkway, was killed by gunfire.

Earlier on Tuesday, police had asked the public’s assistance in locating two persons in connection with the case.

Tyjuana Watson (Jackson), 46, had still not been located as of shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

A police spokesman stated that any information that could lead to her apprehension would help their investigation.
