Casino gaming revenues flat for October

State casino gaming revenues for the month of October were mostly flat, according to a report from the Kansas Lottery Commission.

The Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway reported $11.7 million in gaming revenue for October, as compared to $11.6 million in September, according to Keith Kocher, director of program assurance and integrity for the Kansas Lottery.

Kocher told the lottery commission at Wednesday’s meeting that gaming revenues at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kan., were down about 3 percent, while gaming revenues at the Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City, Kan., were up almost 5 percent. Overall, revenues are flat.

He also reported that construction is continuing on the Kansas Crossing casino planned for the Pittsburg, Kan., area in the southeast part of the state. That casino has already hired key employees and hundreds of people have pre-registered for a job fair there, he said.

Kansas Crossing is expected to open some time in March, he said.
