A homicide victim in the 4700 block of Richmond Avenue has been identified by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.

The victim was identified as Eduardo F. Celestin, 19, of Olathe, Kan., police said.

According to a police spokesman, Celestin and a male in his 20s were in separate vehicles and exchanged gunfire in the 4700 block of Richmond.

Celestin was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A man in his 20s is being sought in connection with the shooting, according to police.

These incidents remain under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).

The victim of a homicide on July 5 in the 500 block of Southwest Boulevard has been identified, according to police.

Monica J. Chavira, 18, a resident of Mission, Kan., was found dead in a hotel room at that location. The victim had visible marks but it was unknown if a weapon was involved, a spokesman said.
