New time and place for KCK school board meeting Tuesday

The Kansas City, Kan., Board of Education will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Schlagle High School library, 2214 N. 59th St., Kansas City, Kan.

During the meeting, a report will be presented on accomplishments and future plans for Schlagle High School. There may be tours of classrooms.

According to agenda information, Schlagle officials are focusing on initiatives that will lead to graduation with some college credit or career preparation for students. The primary focus is student achievement, according to officials.

The board also will hear a report on the district’s continuous improvement plan, and an update on the district’s summer programs, as well as other items.

The board also will go into a closed session under the exceptions to the Kansas open meetings law for nonelected personnel and the attorney-client privilege.
