Homicide victim identified

Kansas City, Kan., police have released the identity of the man who was found dead on Sept. 28 in the 1900 block of North 28th Street.

The man was identified as Cristobal A. Marzanares-Sepulveda, 20, a resident of Kansas City, Kan., police said.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Accident reported on I-35 northbound at Rainbow

A Dodge Avenger was northbound on I-35 about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, when it struck the back of a legally parked abandoned vehicle, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A trooper’s report stated that the driver of the Avenger, a 53-year-old Olathe, Kan., resident, was taken to the hospital with a possible injury.

There was no one in the vehicle that was struck, a Chevy Impala.
