Originally published Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 The Library in the Park festival was getting underway in downtown Kansas City, Kan., on Saturday morning. The free family event includes a taco tasting contest, music, activities for children and booths. The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Big Eleven Lake, 11th and State. A Chrysler 300 was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by a motorcycle at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, on westbound I-70 near the 18th Street exit in Kansas City, Kan.
According to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report, the driver of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man from Grandview, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 32-year-old man from Independence, Mo., was not injured, according to the report.
An accident at 6:06 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, on I-70 between the I-435 and 78th Street exits resulted in an injury, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.
A 43-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man driving a Volvo 850 on eastbound I-70 lost control, striking the barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.
He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
