Injury-accident reported on K-7

An injury-accident was reported at 2:05 p.m. Saturday on K-7 northbound at K-32 in Wyandotte County,

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a 2014 Ford Focus struck a 2001 Ford F-150 truck in the rear as the truck was exiting K-7 northbound onto K-32. The airbag deployed on the Focus. The truck sustained heavy rear-end damage, the report stated.

A 42-year-old woman from Leavenworth, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital in Overland Park, according to the report.

The driver of the truck, a 56-year-old woman from Edwardsville, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital in Overland Park, the report stated.

A 24-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man who was a passenger in the truck also was injured and taken to an Overland Park hospital, according to the trooper’s report.

Circus comes to KCK

Recently, there was a circus that came to Kansas City, Kan.

The name of the circus company is Carson Barnes Circus, which is located out of Oklahoma.

On Sunday the two performances were at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Viva Fashion Mart 4301 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan.

More than 82 performers appeared with everything from elephant acts as well as a trapeze artist. This is a family event for young and old alike.

One person who attended said this brought back fond memories when they were children when they went to the circus.

Bike race circles around KCK park

Saturday was the first day for the Criterium annual bicycle race in Kansas City, Kan.

The race started at 10 a.m. Saturday. The two-day benefit event for FreeWheels for Kids was at Big 11 Lake and Waterway Park, 11th and Grandview Boulevard, Kansas City, Kan.

On Sunday, registration started at 8:30 a.m.
