DC comics now available free digitally through KCKPL

Titles from DC Comics are the latest digital offering available through Kansas City, Kan., Public Library.

Thanks to a relationship between KCKPL and digital entertainment provider, Hoopla, cardholders can now read titles such as The Dark Knight, Watchmen, The Flash, and The Sandman Vol. 1.

Additional titles will be added each week with an expected 200 titles to be available by the end of the summer.

Hoopla worked closely with DC to make sure that their Action Viewer – technology that enables full-page and panel-by-panel views for immersive reading experiences – was up to DC’s high standards for how their comics look. This results in a unique viewing experience for comic-lovers.

To check out comics, people will need a KCKPL library card or eCard. If they have neither, they can sign up for an eCard in less than a minute on the eCommunity site at http://ecommunity.kckpl.org. The eCard offers instant access to thousands of movies, television shows, music, and books.

Anyone in the metro who is eligible for a library card can sign up for an eCard. A link to Hoopla to check out the comics is posted on the library’s eCommunity site.
