Wyandotte’s Calhoun, Bonner’s Noel bring home state gold

The KSHSAA 5A and 6A track and field meets were held Thursday at Cessna Stadium in Wichita, featuring several local athletes in the competition.

Wyandotte’s Malike Calhoun earned top honors in the 6A boys’ triple jump, with a jump of 45 feet, 4.5 inches. Calhoun also placed 8th in the long jump.

Bonner Springs thrower Mariyah Noel took first place in the 5A girls’ discus throw with a distance of 129 feet, 6 inches.
