Wyandotte County under winter weather advisory

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday to midnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Mixed precipitation is expected, the weather service said.

Total snow accumulation of one inch and ice accumulation of a light glaze is possible in the region, the weather service said.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions, the weather service said. They should slow down and use caution while traveling.

The temperature at 5 p.m. was 23 degrees.

Snow and sleet is possible before 10 p.m., then a chance of snow and freezing rain between 10 p.m. and midnight, according to the weather service. Tonight’s low will be 19 with a south wind of 7 to 11 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds may gust up to 23 mph. Little to no ice accumulation is expected, with perhaps less than a half-inch of new snow and sleet accumulation.
