Wyandotte County is currently under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service.
It also is under a heat advisory in effect through 8 p.m. tonight, the weather service stated.
Temperatures at noon July 19 in Wyandotte County were 94, with a heat index of 104, according to the weather service.
A weather radar map from the National Weather Service showed a group of storm clouds located west of Concordia, Kansas, and Salina, Kansas, in the western part of the state, at noon.
