Wyandotte County students compete in Kansas Relays

Several students from Wyandotte County high schools participated in the Kansas Relays on Friday and Saturday at Kansas University’s Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan. The prestigious annual track and field competition draws high school athletes from several states and also features a college competition.

Notable results included a sixth place finish in the long jump by Sumner Academy junior Nahshon Houston, with a jump of 21 feet, 5 1/2 inches.

Nasjon Porter, boys long jump, 19 feet, 11 3/4 inches and boys triple jump, 42 feet, 6 3/4 inches

Schlagle High School

Boys 4×100-meter relay, Kendall Brewer, Larmon Witt, Gavin Williams, Brayden Soza, 43.77 seconds

Wyandotte High School

Boys 4×100-meter relay, Dontae Wilson, Yaseen Chapell, Jaylaan Castro, Marcus Jones, 44.92 seconds
