Tara A. Treece, 28, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of criminal use of weapons in connection with the death of Megan Hernandez on Jan. 18 in the 900 block of South Mill Street, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office.
Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree Sr.’s spokesman stated that Treece is in jail in Saline County, Missouri. She has waived extradition and will be returned to Wyandotte County, according to the district attorney’s spokesman.
Hernandez was found dead on her front porch from apparent stab wounds on Jan. 18, according to a police spokesman’s report on Jan. 18.
Treece’s bond has been set at $200,000, the district attorney’s spokesman said.
