A light snowfall Monday morning turned some roads and highways into dangerous places as temperatures fell.
Light snow was reported between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Monday, as temperatures fell from 32 to 29, according to the National Weather Service. Snow continued to fall around 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Wyandotte County.
The chance of snow will continue through 1 p.m. Monday, according to the weather service. The temperature was 27 degrees at 10 a.m., with a wind chill of 16.
Temperatures may rise to a high of 32 today, with a north wind of 11 to 15 mph and gusts as high as 21 mph, the weather service said.
A winter weather advisory continues in Wyandotte County through 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, according to the weather service.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible, mainly south of I-70, the weather service said. Lower snow totals of up to an inch are possible along and north of I-70.
Besides the slippery morning commute, the weather service warned about a possible hazardous evening commute today.
Tonight, the low will be around 15 with mostly cloudy skies, gradually clearing, according to the weather service. There will be a north wind of 7 to 13 mph.
Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high near 33 and a north northwest wind of 5 to 7 mph, the weather service said.
Tuesday night, it will be clear with a low of 20, and a calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight, according to the weather service.
Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high near 43 and a south southwest wind of 5 to 7 mph, the weather service said.
Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 24, according to the weather service.
Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 47, the weather service said.
