A winter storm watch is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, in Wyandotte County, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said snow and freezing rain are possible beginning Sunday night. A total snow accumulation of up to 7 inches and ice accumulation of two-tenths of an inch are possible.
Significant reductions in visibility are possible, the weather service said.
Ice could result in difficult travel conditions.
The weather service advised residents to continue to monitor weather forecasts.
The Wyandotte County forecast called for a high of 34 on Sunday, and a low of 33 on Sunday night.
Monday’s high will be near 34, and Monday night’s low will be around 24, according to the weather service.
There is still some uncertainty about the timing and the location of the storm, and predicted snow amounts will likely change, the weather service said.
