Wind chill advisory in effect until noon; warmup later this afternoon

A wind chill advisory will remain in effect through noon Tuesday for all of the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will climb into the upper teens to lower 20s this afternoon, ending the main blast of arctic air in the area the last few days, the weather service said.

Temperatures will remain consistent through the end of the work week, with highs in the lower 20s and lows in the single digit to teens, with Thursday morning being the coldest this week, according to the weather service.

Above freezing temperatures are expected to return this weekend along with some possibility of precipitation Sunday into Monday morning, the weather service said. The current outlook is for this precipitation to start out as snow Sunday morning, changing to rain during the daytime, then back to snow Sunday night into Monday. Snow accumulations appear to be minimal, and there will be more information on snow accumulation closer to Sunday.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 20, the weather service said, and wind chill values between minus 7 and 3. A calm wind will become southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Tonight, the low will be around 14 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service. A southwest wind of 7 to 11 mph will become northwest after midnight.

Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high near 20, the weather service said. The wind chill will be between minus 1 and 9. A north northwest wind of 8 to 11 mph will be possible.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 4, according to the weather service. There will be a wind chill of between minus 4 and 1. There will be a north wind of 3 to 7 mph.

Thursday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 20, the weather service said, and a light and variable wind.

Thursday night, the low will be around 6 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 26, the weather service said.

Friday night, the low will be around 12 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 38, the weather service said.

Saturday night, the low will be around 31 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, the weather service said. The high will be near 45.

Sunday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain and snow, with a low of 25, according to the weather service.

Monday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 34, the weather service said.
