Funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will continue into March, according to a recent announcement from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Although the federal government is shut down, the federal program will continue in Kansas, which has received $1.4 million for food purchases and $889,645 for nutrition services and administration, according to the announcement.
Kansas will purchase food until March 4 and keep the staff of the program working through March 13, according to the announcement.
