Weather warms up a little today

The weather warms up a little today, rising above the freezing level to a high of 39 this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Areas with snowpack can be a little cooler. The seven to nine inches of snow that fell Thursday remained on the ground this morning, with temperatures at 18 degrees at 9 a.m., and a wind chill reading of 9 degrees.

Wind gusts as high as 30 mph will add to the coldness of the day. There will be an elevated fire danger across the northern part of the region, the weather service said.

Roller coaster temperatures are expected this week, with mild conditions developing Sunday night and continuing into Tuesday before a strong cold front moves through the region, according to the weather service. Tuesday’s high of 33 will be a 30-degree drop from Monday’s high of 61.

Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 39, and a southwest wind of 11 to 17 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 20, according to the weather service. A southwest wind of 6 to 9 mph will become north after midnight. Winds may gust up to 21 mph.

Saturday, it will be sunny, with a high of 37, the weather service said. A north wind of 6 to 9 mph will become south southeast in the afternoon.

Saturday night, it will be clear, with a temperature rising to around 39 by 3 a.m., according to the weather service. A south wind of 7 to 16 mph will gust as high as 33 mph.

Sunday, it will be sunny, with a high near 57 and a south southwest wind of 9 to 17 mph, gusting as high as 33 mph, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 41, according to the weather service.

On Monday, Presidents Day, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 61, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a chance of drizzle before midnight, according to the weather service. The low will be around 26.

Tuesday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 33, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 10, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 26, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 13, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 27, the weather service said.
