Weather: Temperatures in deep freeze, snow remains on roads

Roadways will remain snow-covered and very slippery through the Monday morning commute, especially on secondary roads, according to the National Weather Service.

Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations and take it slow, the weather service said.

Wind chill values through the morning hours will be in the single digits, according to the weather service.

The temperature was 19 degrees, with a wind chill of 8 degrees, at 8 a.m. Monday.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 28 and a northwest wind of 8 to 10 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there will be patchy freezing fog after 3 a.m., and a low of 10, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind will be around 6 mph.

Tuesday, there will be patchy freezing fog before 7 a.m., the weather service said. It will be sunny with a high of 29 and a northwest wind of 6 mph.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 14 and a light and variable wind, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 40 and a southeast wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 31, according to the weather service.

Thursday, there is a 40 percent chance of rain after noon, the weather service said. There will be a high near 44.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 28, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 46, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is an 80 percent chance of rain, mainly after midnight, with a low of 38, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, with a high near 47, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, with a low of 31, according to the weather service.

Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 40, the weather service said.
