Critical fire weather conditions exist today, with strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures contributing to the risk of fires, the weather service said.
Winds gusts up to 41 mph are possible today in Wyandotte County, according to the weather service. The humidity will be 20 to 30 percent.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, the weather service said, and outdoor burning is not recommended.

Today, it will be sunny with a high of 69 and a south southwest wind of 18 to 23 mph, gusting to 41 mph, the weather service said.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 55, according to the weather service. A south southwest wind of 17 to 20 mph will gust as high as 26 mph.
Thursday, it will be sunny with a high near 73 and a south southwest wind of 16 to 21 mph, decreasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said. Winds may gust up to 37 mph.
Thursday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 53 and a south southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight, according to the weather service.
Friday, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 61 and a calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 8 mph in the morning, the weather service said.
Friday night, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly after midnight, according to the weather service. The low will be around 47. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.
