A few isolated thunderstorms are possible this morning in the area; however, no severe weather is expected, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Rain was falling at 9 a.m. Monday in Wyandotte County, with showers possibly continuing through early afternoon. Today’s high will be near 47 with a northeast wind of 7 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph, the weather service said. Between three-quarters and one inch of rain is possible.

The heaviest rain was expected to track along and south of I-70, according to forecasters.

Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m., with a low of 36, according to the weather service, and a north wind of 8 to 10 mph.

Tuesday, there is a 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m., with a high near 48 and a north wind of 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, the low will be around 31 with mostly cloudy skies gradually clearing, and a north northwest wind of 3 to 7 mph.

The middle of the week is mostly dry with a warming trend, forecasters stated.

Wednesday, the high will be near 57 with mostly sunny skies and a calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night, the low will be around 40 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Thursday, the high will be near 67 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Thursday night, the low will be around 48 with mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m., then a high near 70, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 50, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 66, the weather service said.

Saturday night, the low will be around 42 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers with a high near 60, the weather service said.
