Weather: Dangerous heat continues on Tuesday

A heat advisory will be in effect Tuesday afternoon, July 27, through Thursday evening, July 29, according to the National Weather Service.

The excessive heat warning has been lifted currently, but the week will have hot weather.

Tuesday, the high will be near 96 with a heat index as high as 103, the weather service said. The heat advisory will continue Wednesday and Thursday, when the heat index could rise to 105.

Monday’s high will be 92, according to the weather service, providing a short break from the extremely hot weather.

A slightly drier air mass remains in place across the region, however, with some lingering cloud cover, the weather service said.

A cold front may move through the area on Thursday night, bringing some relief from the heat, according to the weather service. However, if the front slows or stalls across the north, muggy conditions could linger into Friday.

This front would be the next best chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said.

Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 92 and an east southeast wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 71 and an east southeast wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny, with a high near 96 and heat index values as high as 103, with a light southeast wind, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear, with a low of 73 and a light south southeast wind, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be sunny and hot, with a high near 97 and a calm wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the morning, the weather service said.

Saturday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 95, the weather service said.
