After a warm week in Wichita, the weather finally won a game, as the T-Bones and Wichita Wingnuts were rained out on Thursday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
The weather forced the players to leave the field during warm ups and fans were asked to exit the grandstand and leave the facility and head for shelter from the approaching storms. The press box was also closed down and the T-Bones departure was delayed until 8:30 p.m. for the ride back to Kansas City, due to high winds and rain.
The two clubs will play a double header to be announced at a later date. The T-Bones return to Wichita on Aug. 14 to 17 and the game will fall somewhere in that window.
The T-Bones return home on Friday night, to begin a 10-game homestand with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. The game is on the T-Bones Broadcast Network online at tbonesbaseball.com.
Tickets to home games are available online, by calling 913-328-5618 or by visiting in person the Providence Medical Center Box Office.
