A weather advisory has been issued for Wyandotte County, according to the National Weather Service.
At 10:58 p.m. Thursday, May 3, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending near Lewis and Clark Village to near Leavenworth, then to Linwood.
Movement was east at 55 mph.
Dime-size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.
The weather service said locations affected included Kansas City, Kansas, Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, Leavenworth, Overland Park, Independence, Shawnee, Liberty, Gladstone, Lansing, Merriam, Mission, Smithville, Kearney, DeSoto, Parkville, Tonganoxie, Platte City, Basehor and North Kansas City.
