A warming trend has arrived, with temperatures rising to 65 today, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Despite a cloud cover and light sprinkles in parts of the region this morning, a wave is moving across the Missouri Valley, and in its wake will be mostly sunny skies.
Temperatures will rebound later today into the lower to middle 60s, and the low tonight will be 46, the weather service said.
Record highs are still expected on Thursday, with temperatures rising to 73, according to the weather service. The record high is 70 degrees set in 1956 in Kansas City, and records could fall Thursday.
Well above normal temperatures will continue into Friday with a high near 66, the weather service said. Saturday’s high will be 52.
Today, it will be sunny, with a high near 65 and a west wind of 5 to 8 mph, the weather service said.
Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 46, according to the weather service. A west southwest wind of 6 to 8 mph will gust as high as 18 mph.
Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 73, and a west southwest wind of 6 mph, the weather service said.
Thursday night, it will be clear, with a low of 46 and a south southwest wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, it will be sunny, with a high near 66 and a light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the morning, the weather service said.
