About 16.3 percent of the registered voters, about 12,663 persons, had already voted by about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, according to Wyandotte County Election Commissioner Bruce Newby.
He said his prediction for this election was about 20 percent, plus or minus 2, and there is probably enough time to get to that mark today.
Four years ago, turnout in the 2013 general election was 20.6 percent, he said.
With all of the interest in the mayoral contest this year, he added he was hoping for a higher turnout.
Polls will be open until 7 p.m. in Wyandotte County. Registered voters should bring their driver’s license or other approved photo identification with them to vote. Polling place locations are online at https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView.
