Volunteers make strudel to prepare for Slovenefest

Lauren Nuhn, left, and Susan Rezin, right, volunteers, made apple strudel on Saturday at Monsignor Mejak Hall, 513 Ohio, to prepare for the 10th annual Slovenefest Sept. 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kansas. The strudels are frozen until the event, which begins after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Sept. 22. The festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 22 will include music, a Slovenian dinner, food and entertainment. The event also includes booths, a silent auction, and music by Hrvatski Obicaj and the Brian McCarty Band. The money raised will support the Holy Family Catholic Church. (Staff photo)
